ELECTIONS
The HR Division elects its officers annually. Calls for nominations for four executive committee positions, and the program chair-elect position (which progresses through Program Chair, Division Chair-Elect, Division, Chair, and Past Division Chair positions) go out in the winter of each year. The Nominations Committee (chaired by the Past President) then aggregates the nominations to present a set of candidates, ensuring that multiple candidates exist for each position. The elections are then held in the spring with all division members eligible to vote.
Here are the results of the 2007 HR Division election:
Election Committee Report The Elections Committee consisted of Berrin Erdogan (Portland State), John Masyln (Belmont), PC Smith (U Tulsa), and Micki Kacmar (U of Alabama) who served as the chair.
Via the newsletter, the committee solicited nominations for both PDW chair and the Executive Committee. In addition, new this year, the Academy offered electronic nominations during the month of March. Of those nominated and who agreed to stand for nomination were 11 individuals for PDW chair and 22 individuals for the Executive Committee.
Per our constitution, the four individuals with the most nominations appeared on the ballot along with four selected by the Nominations Committee. Likewise, the individual with the most nominations for PDW chair appeared on the ballot along with one selected by the committee.
The elections were conducted electronically by the Academy. The polls opened April 16 and closed May 18. A total of 1232 (36.45%) members of the HR Division cast votes. The winners are:
PDW Chair:
John Delery, University of Arkansas
Executive Committee:
Ken Brown, University of Iowa
Theresa Glomb, University of Minnesota

It may be of interest to know that half of those elected were nominated by the division and half were recommended by the committee.
