Election Committee Report
The Elections Committee consisted of Berrin Erdogan (Portland State), John Masyln (Belmont), PC Smith (U Tulsa), and Micki Kacmar (U of Alabama) who served as the chair.

Via the newsletter, the committee solicited nominations for both PDW chair and the Executive Committee. In addition, new this year, the Academy offered electronic nominations during the month of March. Of those nominated and who agreed to stand for nomination were 11 individuals for PDW chair and 22 individuals for the Executive Committee.

Per our constitution, the four individuals with the most nominations appeared on the ballot along with four selected by the Nominations Committee. Likewise, the individual with the most nominations for PDW chair appeared on the ballot along with one selected by the committee.

The elections were conducted electronically by the Academy. The polls opened April 16 and closed May 18. A total of 1232 (36.45%) members of the HR Division cast votes. The winners are:

PDW Chair:
John Delery, University of Arkansas

Executive Committee:
Ken Brown, University of Iowa
Theresa Glomb, University of Minnesota
Fred Morgeson, Michigan State University
Miguel Quinones, Southern Methodist
University

It may be of interest to know that half of those elected were nominated by the division and half were recommended by the committee.

Thanks to all who participated in the election process!

2007 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS (PDW) PROGRAM
Howard J. Klein, 2007 PDW Chair, The Ohio State University

I am very excited about the Professional Development Workshop (PDW) program for the Academy of Management Meetings in Philadelphia and would like to share some highlights and important information with you about these sessions. This year's PDW program offers an amazing variety of informative and entertaining activities. There are over 40 sessions either sponsored or co-sponsored by the HR Division on the PDW program, which runs Friday, August 3, 2007 through and noon on Sunday, August 5, 2007. There is something for every member of the HR Division in this set of workshops to help facilitate your teaching, research and professional development. Before going further, I must recognize the members of the PDW committee: David Allen (U. of Memphis), Maria Kraimer (U. of Melbourne), Judy Tansky (Ohio State U.) and Kelly Zellars (U. of North Carolina Charlotte). My sincerest thanks to these individuals and to all of the people who worked with them to develop these outstanding sessions.

The HR Division will again offer its excellent Doctoral Student and Junior Faculty consortia. Additional details on both of these programs are available on the HR Division website (http://www.hrdiv.org/). To connect with HR practice, there will be a company visit to COMCAST on Friday morning. Looking to enhance your teaching? There are sessions on how to incorporate strategic HRM concepts into HRM classes, as well as sessions on using technology and teaching diversity. Looking to boost your research acumen? There are sessions addressing a wide variety of analytical and methodological issues, a research incubator focusing on integrating HR and other sessions focusing on specific emerging research issues including a number of sessions addressing the challenges and opportunities of conducting international HRM research. A final category of sessions focus on helping you manage your career. The PDW program also offers opportunities for you to connect and socialize including a networking lunch on Saturday sponsored by SHRM, a welcome reception Saturday night, and a "Meet the HR Division Leadership" coffee hour Sunday morning. Visit the Academy Web-site for the specific times and locations for these and many other sessions. Please plan on getting to Philadelphia early enough to take advantage of these outstanding professional development opportunities. I'm confident that you will be glad that you did!

PDW Registration. The Academy has implemented a centralized registration system for most PDW sessions requiring or requesting pre-registration. This system was designed to eliminate the need to register in different places using different methods for different PDW sessions. Note that to use this system, you must first register for the conference. Because space is limited for many sessions, you will want to register for the conference and the PDW sessions that interest you as soon as possible. To view a list of PDW sessions (from all Divisions) requiring or requesting registration and to register for those sessions visit: http://apps. aomonline.org/PDWReg. The registration deadline for using this system is July 13, 2007. In some cases, information is provided in the specific session descriptions for registering after this date if space is still available. If you have any problems or concerns with the centralized PDW registration system, please email pdwreg istration@aom.pace.edu.
