Wasn’t that easy? The election process was
centralized this year, and all Division and Interest
Group elections were held at the same time and the
same place (website). Feedback so far has been
very positive: the voting process is simple, and the
website is very user-friendly. Of course, the best
indicator of the ease of voting may be the voter
turnout: 30% of you voted in the election! While
that number is by no means ideal, it is significantly
higher than previous years (10%). Thank you for
voting!
This year, we had a record number of
nominations: 9 nominees for Program Chair-Elect, and
29 nominees for Executive Committee. Per the HR
Division’s by-laws, the ballot for Program Chair-Elect
was composed of the two nominees with the highest
number of nominations that were willing to serve.
Similarly, the ballot for Executive Committee was
composed of the eight nominees with the highest
number of nominations that were willing to serve. If
you’re interested in running for office in the HR
Division next year, make sure your colleagues know
about your interest and that they nominate you!
And if you’re interested in getting involved in the
Division and helping out on any of the committees,
please let Joe Martocchio, the incoming Division
Chair, know about your interests.
Please join me in congratulating our incoming HR
Division leaders:
Program Chair-Elect is Howard Klein.
Executive Committee Members are Wendy
Boswell, Debra Cohen, Judy Tansky, and Theresa
Welbourne. Since Howard Klein will be vacating his
last year on the Executive Committee in order to
take on the Program Chair-Elect position, Bob Ford
will serve as interim Executive Committee member.
