Nominations Sought - HR Division Leadership

You should have received (or will shortly) an email from the Academy of Management about the 2011 Division and Interest Group nominations website being open and ready for your participation.

Please give some thought to who you would like to see leading the HR Division and nominate those individuals (or even yourself) by following the directions in the email from the Academy.

The HR Division annually fills five leadership positions: An Officer and 4 representatives to the Executive Committee. The Officer position is a 5 year term that rotates through each of the officer positions: Professional Development Workshops Chair, Program Chair, Chair-Elect, Chair, and Past Chair. Executive Committee members serve a 3 year term and participate in the governance of the HR division by attending Executive Committee meetings and serving on or chairing the Division's various committees such as the Awards Committee, Teaching Committee, Member Relations, Doctoral Consortium, etc.

Please participate in the nomination process between now and February 28th, when the nomination's website closes (with elections to follow). This is your chance to have a say in setting the slate for the future leaders of the HR Division.

As Past Chair, I oversee the Division's elections and chair the nominations committee. If you have any questions about the nomination process, please contact me at klein_12@fisher.osu.edu.

Thank you for getting involved in your division!!

AOM Connect Reminder

We need your resources, ideas, and contributions!

Post information to the HR Division section of AOM Connect (http://connect.aomonline.org) and be entered into a drawing for your choice of an iPad or $500.00!

We are in the process of making AOM Connect a useful and interactive portal and, hopefully, frequent stopping point for you as you utilize the Web for your professional pursuits. There are many possibilities for resources you might share and a growing list of resources posted to the site that you can take advantage of.

Logging onto AOM Connect to post your own material (and thus enter the drawing!) is as simple as logging onto the main AOM Web site. Just visit http://connect.aomonline.org and use your last name and AOM member number. From there, click to the HR Division homepage and you can post and tag information there as you wish.

Specific rules for the drawing are as follows: you will be entered into the drawing if you post at least one unique resource to the AOM Connect HR Division site. For example, a syllabus, case, video clip, citation for one of your in-press papers, or web link to course or research material would qualify, whereas a single comment in reply to someone else's resource or post would not. Although you may post as many resources as you wish, a maximum of three will be counted toward entry into the drawing (i.e., a maximum of three entries). Drawing will be held in February and the winner notified thereafter. Any other questions should be directed to Brian Dineen at brian.dineen@uky.edu or Charles Wankel at wankelc@verizon.net.

Thanks for doing your part to help create a vibrant online community for the HR Division!
