HR Division Call for Submissions and Reviewers

Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Chicago, Illinois 2009

HR Division Call for Papers

HR Division Banner

The Academy of Management and its divisions and interest groups are calling for submissions (papers, symposia, and Professional Development Workshops (PDW) proposals) for the 2009 AOM Annual Meeting, August 7-11, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. The submission deadline is January 15, 2009 at 5:00 PM EST (New York Time). Click here for more information. The HR Division encourages submissions that are innovative in terms of format and/or content. Specifically, the Division is interested in submissions that pertain to HR-related research, teaching, and service activities.

As always, we encourage submissions that are consistent with the Division's on-going concern with bridging the science/practice gap or the conference theme: "Green Management Matters". The Special Theme Call for Papers can be downloaded here.

HR Division Call for Reviewers

The HR Division is recruiting scholarly program reviewers for the 2009 Academy of Management Annual Meeting. Please consider signing up as a reviewer if you have not already done so. Being a reviewer for the Annual Meeting is a great way to be involved in the HR Division, be a part of the Academy's scholarly program, and provide visibility for yourself and your institution. Even if you have reviewed in the past, you still need to re-sign up to review for the 2009 Academy of Management Meeting.

By Academy rule, a Division cannot send more than 3 papers to a reviewer (unless you also agree to be an "emergency" reviewer). The result is a manageable workload for reviewers but it also means the HR Division needs a lot of reviewers. We need YOU! The review period is from January 15, 2009 to February 13, 2009 (review deadline). Please check your schedule to make sure you will be able to review during this time frame before signing up. To sign up, please visit http://review.aomonline.org/ and click the "Sign Up Now" button. Be sure to select the HR Division when indicating your preferences.

Thank you for considering this request for your time and expertise!
Your 2009 HR Division Program Chair, John Delery (University of Arkansas), hrdiv09@walton.uark.edu .

Awards Nominations Reminder

In addition to your paper submissions, don't forget your submissions for the HR Division Awards. Consider nominating a person or research paper for one of the many award offered by the HR Division. We have several newer awards, including the Early Career Achievement Award, the International HRM Scholarly Research Award, and the Innovative Teaching Award. Find out more about these and all the HR Division Awards at: http:/ /www.hrdiv.org/hrdivision/awards.htm
