Please consider applying to attend the
HR Division Doctoral Consortium August 6 and 7 at the Academy of
Management annual meetings in Montreal, if you are a doctoral student
in the dissertation stage, but who has not yet defended.
Highlights of this year's Consortium
include: an informal networking
dinner Friday, August 6, a keynote address by Dr. Angelo DeNisi of
Tulane University, and two full hours of research feedback from a
leading scholar in Human Resources.
There is no charge for the Consortium,
but pre-registration is required, and students must be nominated by
their faculty advisor. The
primary faculty advisor should send a nomination email to Jenny Hoobler
(jhoobler@uic.edu) by June 15, 2010. This nominating
email must include:
1) the
nominee's name, address, email address, and phone number,
2)
school/department and university,
3) year in
program,
4) a general
appraisal of the nominee, and
5) an
assessment of the nominee's progress toward his/her dissertation,
expected defense date, and dissertation subject.
The Consortium
is intended for students who have made significant progress toward
completing their Ph.D. program but have not yet defended their
dissertation. Because space is limited only one student per program is
typically allowed to participate, but additional students from a given
program may be accepted on a space available basis following the
nomination deadline.
NOTE: On-line
registration through the AOM website is only allowed for those students
whose applications have been accepted. And drop-in attendance at the
Consortium is not allowed.
We hope you'll join us for this
educational and fun experience for new HR scholars!
