Goals: (1) plan pre-conference workshops that will facilitate the professional development of the members of the HR Division; and (2) work with sponsors of a session to ensure successful execution of the event.
The Professional Development Workshops are those events that occur in the pre-conference days before the Academy meeting. The audience of the pre-conference workshops is typically the late assistant, associate, and full level professors as well as practitioners that participate in the HR Division.
Generally, members who serve on this committee engage in the following activities:
·Identify topics or creative ideas for the 7-8 pre-conference workshops for the HR Division
· Think of ways the HR Division could possibly partner with other divisions or professional groups to put on a workshop
· Convince colleagues to organize and put on these workshops
· Decide to put on a workshop themselves!
· Identify funding sources for the workshops when possible
